CLLRS CALL FOR IDEAS & ACTION ON BOUNDS GREEN GATEWAY

A new consultation was launched this week to gather local resident’s ideas on improving Haringey’s key gateway by Bounds Green station. The consultation has been launched by Labour councillors Ali Demirci and Matt Cooke.

The crossroads with Bounds Green Road, Durnsford and Brownlow Roads in N22 is as known for its repeatedly dug up pavements,  grim 1970’s footbridge and stark lighting as it is for its beautiful pre-war station and as one of the key gateways from North London in to the Borough and Bowes Park area. 

The Labour Councillors have this week launched a dialogue with local residents which is being delivered to all houses in the ward and is available on their website www.boundsgreenhome.com The pair were this week encouraging all residents to send back the freepost response form with comments and ideas.

Cllr Matt Cooke said:

“Local people feel this is a key gateway into our Borough and the Bowes Park area – hundreds of thousands of people pass through every week and we want the area to better reflect how much people love living here, it should be an attractive, safe area people feel really proud of.

Cllr Demirci said:

We’ll be using the ideas local residents give us to fight for investment by the Council and others for improvements to this important part of Bounds Green. We have already had a tremendous response and people are delighted that changes are coming”
