Over the last few months we have received a number of complaints from residents and even those from further afield on the issue of the company SANGO Security Ltd who are clamping cars on the Latham Court access Road on Brownlow Road beside Bounds Green Station, N22.

We have now written twice to the Securities Licensing Authority who have responsibility for licensing and enforcing the conditions of licensing for this sort of company – I have yet to hear back. 

 Whilst the activity of clamping on Private Property (and this little stretch, sadly, is private property) the companies do have to conform to certain standards; i.e. wearing badges, providing reciepts and other conditions. My understanding of the situation in this case (based on the accounts of victims of this action) is that the company is likely to be in breach of several of these conditions.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

• WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU REMEBER OF THE INCIDENT
• WHAT WERE THE CLAMPERS WEARING - DID THEY HAVE A BADGE? DID THEY GIVE YOU A RECIEPT? HOW MUCH DID THEY ASK YOU TO PAY?
